The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop for Thursday, May 16 reveals Abby Newman’s (Melissa Ordway) stance will stun Devon Winters (Bryton James).
Also coming up, Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) will have his feelings hurt. Plus, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will resign. And Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) will tell Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) she’s going to Paris without him.
Y&R spoilers tease Daniel will jokingly ask Abby if they’re even allowed to talk to each other. He’ll say he’s trying to find out if anyone else on the board voted against the lawsuit. An uncomfortable Abby will make a face. And she’ll say she voted to fight his lawsuit.
Y&R Daily Scoop – Daniel Asks Why She Voted Against Him
“So, some of the board members wanted to settle?” he’ll ask. Abby will tell him she wanted to do what was best for the company. But he’ll suggest she just voted the way Devon wanted her to vote. “How could you think that it was right to vote against me?”
In their hotel room, Tucker will admit Devon didn’t actually broker the deal with him. “He desperately needs my help, whether he wants to admit it or not.” But Audra will change the subject, because she has exciting news. “I managed to move our flight up,” she’ll tell him.
But Tucker will say he needs to handle the Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) situation right now. And Audra will say she can’t believe he’s cancelling their trip again. “I am sick and tired of being runner up to everyone else!” she’ll shout. However, Tucker will say he has an opportunity to prove himself to his son. “If you don’t want to go to Paris with me, I will go without you,” Audra will reply and storm off.
At Chancellor-Winters, Devon will say they have to do something fast to get rid of Billy. Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will say they’re in. Nate will comment that Jill’s going to explode, but Devon doesn’t care.
Abby will arrive and Devon will say he’s called a board meeting. “What is this about?” a disconcerted Abby will ask. Then Jill will pop up on screen. “Oh for God’s sake, what now?” she’ll ask. And Abby will tell Jill she’s as much in the dark as her.
“I gave Billy my complete authority and voting rights so I could step back and yet here you are calling a meeting without him,” Jill will say. But Lily will tell her they can’t reach Billy. Then Devon will make a motion to clearly defy Billy’s power within the company. “We expect all ideas to pass through Lily and myself first.”

But an angry Jill will tell them their move neutralizes Billy. She’ll add she knows how the vote will go. “It’ll be Devon and Lily against Jill and Billy, and there’s no doubt how Abby’s going to vote.” Then Jill will say she’s going to call her lawyers. But Abby will tell her she doesn’t need to. “Because I’m voting with you, and Billy.”
Jill will thank Abby for making the wise choice and tell Lily and Devon not to try this again. After Jill signs off, Devon will ask why Abby didn’t vote with him. And she’ll be angry. She’ll say he didn’t even give her a heads up and then expected her to be on his side.
Devon will apologize but Abby will say she had legitimate reasons for how she voted. “Jill brought Chancellor into this partnership,” she’ll say. “You and Lily have clearly benefitted from the deal.” Abby will add had she to choose between the Newmans and Abbotts her whole life. “The last person I thought would put me in this position is you.”
Meanwhile, Audra will vent to Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope). She’ll suggest she may go to Paris and convince the Glissade board to fire Tucker and replace him with her. Nate will walk over and say he overheard her conversation. Audra will tell him she may fly to Paris without Tucker. But Nate has a better idea. “Skip the trip, have dinner with me.”
As for Daniel, he’ll head to Crimson Lights and whine to his mother. He’ll say he just found out his longtime friend Abby turned on him. But Phyllis will tell him she’s a spoiled little rich girl who’s never had to work like the rest of them.
Tucker will approach Phyllis, after Daniel leaves, and she’ll say Billy has more power at Chancellor-Winters and is going to convince them to rehire her son. “So, Lily and Devon, they don’t get to do what they please anymore.”
Finally, Devon will show up and Tucker will spill everything Phyllis told him. “Did you just happen to tell Tucker about Billy’s new position and he’s going out of town?” Devon will ask. Phyllis will say she did. “I’m very disturbed that you hired the head of my division and you stole his creation.” Then she’ll tell Devon she quits.
